Stader Geest – Monastery grounds at the Elbe river

The region “Stader Geest” is an old piece of land on the edge of the North Sea. The starting point of the VIA ROMEA is in Stade, at the inner courtyard of the former monastery of abbot Albert. The stage locations of the first section are Harsefeld and Zeven.

01 Stade – Harsefeld

All information on the route

The pilgrim trail “VIA ROMEA” starts at Stade. It leads from the inner courtyard of the former Franciscan monastery (at the statue of abbot Albert) through Stade, into the wide landscape of Northern Germany. The tour is marked by little forest areas, areas of arable land and the “Frankenmoor”. At the end, we reach the former monastery grounds of Harsefeld.

02 Harsefeld – Zeven

All information on the route

The second stage of the pilgrim trail “VIA ROMEA” leads from Harsefeld to Zeven. The flat, but nevertheless demanding tour leads you for long stretches through the wide fields of Northern Germany. The tour leads you through small villages and long, straight distances. Our destination is the St. Viti- Church in Zeven.
